The Exuma Sound and Tongue of the Ocean are two, huge, underwater canyons found in the Bahamas.
These canyons drop off to over a mile deep and provide divers with the opportunity to experience some amazing wall dives.
CONCEPTION ISLAND WALL
The wall at Conception Island starts at a depth of about 70 foot and drops off to over a mile deep. The coral there is spectacular as the area in which we dive has been a marine protected site for years, protecting the coral from human-induced damage. Sightings at the wall include turtles, reef sharks and eagle rays along with a plethora of reef fish.
GREAT EXUMA WALL
Although not as abundant in coral and fish life as the walls of Long Island and Conception Island, our local wall site means we can conduct training dives, close to the mainland, for students taking the deep dive courses we offer. There are a number of swimthroughs that can be explored at this site.
